{CERN cooling test} During our stay at CERN (12/09/2002 - 12/12/2003) we performed the first small scale cooling test. The load on the voltage regulators were "simulated" with high power SMD resistors covered by a glob-top with the propper size og the MCM. The small scale test consisted of the three Voltage regulators and three "MCM"s. 1.8mm Al cooling pads connected with a thermal conductive glue to Cu pipes (inner diameter: , outer diameter: 3.00mm) (01/18/2003) ![]() {Preparation status} The test readout-board is ready but not equipped. The voltage regulators are still not available (status 11/11/2002). The power consumption of the MCMs is still unknown due to different problems with the ASIC developed @ KIP. (11/11/2002) ![]() {TRD/TDR} Bases of the cooling scheme is the writeup in the TRD/TDR. On pages 134 to 138 of the TDR, the requirements are listed and described. The implementation has to be done for the upcoming cooling test. (15/10.2002) |
