Lecture: Accelerator Physics WS 12/13

Note: Excursion to MPI-K for accelerator visit at Friday, November 30th, at 16h30.

General Information

VSpec (2SWS lecture, 1SWS tutorial) 4 LP/CP

Prerequisites: Bachelor course PEP1-5,PTP1-4

Contents: This lecture gives introduction to the basics of accelerator physics. Different types of accelerators (hadron machines, e+e- machines) as well as synchrotron radiation facilities are discussed. Prospects for new acceleration techniques and future accelerator projects are given. This course is addressed to master students (7th semester) interested in accelerator physics.
