Kai Schweda – Research Interests

  • The CBM experiment at the future facility FAIR at GSI, Darmstadt will create highest baryon densities in nuclear collisions. This superdense baryonic matter will allow for searching for the critical point in the QCD phase diagram and for studying effects of chiral symmetry restoration. Chiral symmetry and its breaking in strong interactions is intimately connected with the origin of hadron masses. Among other interesting signals, charged D-mesons might carry information on effects of chiral symmetry restoration. CBM will identify charged D-mesons by their displaced decay vertex using its silicon tracking system.
